A Small Announcement

September 25, 2008

Well exactly two weeks late my little boy decided to finally make an entrance to the world. Weighing 8lb 9oz at 4.25pm on Friday 8th August 2008

Eoghann Paul

Decided he preferred my bed early on

Eoghann 10/08/08

over the last 7 weeks he has grown soooo much, he isn’t small… at his 6 – 8 week check up he’s weighed in at 11lb 14oz and 62cm long, which I’m not too surprised about as I’m 5’7″ and Dear Husband is 6’4″  but it does mean he’s being growing out of his clothes mega quickly

Still Waiting

August 5, 2008

Well this baby is too comfortable. I’m currently 11 days overdue today.

If nothing happens before Thursday am, I’ll be induced, which isn’t what I wanted but I’m really sore and fed up now.

Keep thinking it would be nice to stitch but my fingers are swollen and my wrists hurt so best I don’t as I’ll just make a complete mess

Hopefully have some news soon

Catch Up 4

July 2, 2008

Unfortunately on the 7th March we lost my beloved Grandmother

She was a good age, she would have been 90 this year. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Lumpy is due around what would have been her birthday

So just before Easter we headed down south to Sussex for her funeral, thankfully we managed to get there without any road problems which is not bad considering we went on the M6, M1 and M25 lol

It was lovely to see the family again, although the next time we all meet up should be a little happier as it will hopefully be lumpy’s Christening.

We have another Christening coming up… DH has been asked to be his best friends little boys God Father. I have him all sorted with a gift as it had been expected this month but will now be in November

So I think we have pretty much packed most of life’s events into pretty much a year and a half

Christening x 2

Now all we have to do is move house lol

Now I know this all has nothing to do with sewing and I have to admit I haven’t being doing so much recently but I have been planning projects. I have a number of long term projects on the go, which I haven’t touched since February lol but I have two projects I’m really keen to get started, both are Victoria Sampler… the Wedding Sampler and the Birth Sampler so when my eye sight, dexterity and concentration return I will get stitching again

Catch Up 3 – Baby

July 2, 2008

OK number 3 of my catch up… is of course lumpy as I have affectionately come to call my bump, because of all the elbows, knees and feet that poke out.

I know the sex of the baby but DH doesn’t lol. He’ll be happy what ever we have but I have a feeling he will be very pleased when he finds out what our first is.

We had our first scan before the wedding on 21st January

First Scan

we had our second scan on 5th March, I haven’t scanned this one yet but i will add as soon as DH gets home so he can get down and connect the scanner for me

Lumpy was a bit camera shy and wouldn’t look the right way so the scan photo shows a fantastic view if the back of his head (we decided before the scan that we would refer to lumpy as ‘he’ rather than ‘it’)

We will be 37 weeks on Friday, which is very scary but we have everything we need, although we need to collect bitsl from DH’s parents as we have been storing the large bulky items there…  MIL has been very possessive of the baby things so we may have some fun collecting everything

Catch Up 2 – The Honeymoon

July 2, 2008

We went on our honeymoon the day after the wedding. We spent a lovely relaxing week in Campbeltown. For those that don’t know where that is Campbeltown is situated near the Mull of Kintyre in Argyll, Scotland. And yes we did visit the beach where Paul McCartney filmed the video for Mull of Kintyre. We stayed in a lovely little fisherman’s cottage.

During the week we really started to realise that I definitely was pregnant lol. I had trouble getting in an out of DH’s landrover so he bought me a stool to help me get in and out lol.

I also started to have to undo my trousers when I sat down… which was fine as long as I remembered to do them up again when I stood up lol. However on the way home we stopped into Glasgow Fort and I bought my first pair of maternity trousers, as the bump was starting to show

Basically if we had got married one week later I wouldn’t have fitted into my dress lol

There are some photos from the honeymoon on Photobucket

Catch Up 1 – The Wedding

July 1, 2008

As you may know, my OH and I got married 2nd February 2008. We had a fantastic day and I think we proved you can have everything you want without breaking the bank!!! It was a small affair with just under 40 guests (which included 4 little girls and a baby boy of 6 weeks) saying that there were some that traveled quite a distance… 3 members of my family traveled from France and my OH’s cousin extended her visit from New Zealand

We got married near where my Dad lives in a lovely little church in Gullane, which is about 20 miles outside Edinburgh. We had our reception in a local Hotel about 5 mins drive up the road in Dirleton

My OH announced that we were expecting in his speech. I tease him now about making so many grown women cry

And no one realised until that point that I’d been drinking apple juice and grape juice all day in stead of champagne. The hotel staff were fantastic at bringing me a new glass when ever my glass was empty.

Dad has saved me a bottle of champagne from the reception at the church which we are going to open when bubs arrives, to finally drink to our marriage and hopefully our new family

We have a few more of our boring wedding photo’s in Photobucket

AWOL for 6 months

June 29, 2008

OMG I can’t believe it has been 6 months since I last posted!!!!

Life outside stitching has taken over, as it must do sometimes.

My lovely OH and I got married in February, and since then our pregnancy has taken over somewhat…. life has all been about going from one Midwife appointment, to hospital appointment, to physio, to antem=natal classes and making sure we had everything we needed before I didn’t feel as up to rampaging around the shops.

Stitching has taken a back seat for a while because I have found my concentration is appalling at the moment and I don’t feel as though my stitching is as neat as I would like it to be

Bubs is expected in about 4 weeks time, I would like to say I’ll be back once he/she has arrived but I have a feeling I might be quite busy for a while lol being a first time Mum with no small children in the family I have absolutely no idea of exactly what I have let myself in for… if I expect the worst it can only be better lol
