Been AWOL for sooooo Long

November 2, 2009

I can’t believe I have been away for a whole year!!!!

It has been a full year but with little stitching I’m afraid. I did however manage to take part in one exchange

(Picture to follow)

And I have been slowly working on my little boys birth sampler

(Picture to follow)

We have moved to Manchester and we have another bump on the way. So I’ll have to get cracking with the first birth sampler as I’ll have another one to do soon.

I think I may have to rename my blog to “toddler hinderance” as the cats are no longer the reason I don’t manage to get much done

November Goals and Christening

November 4, 2008

LOL it is November and I am posting my first Goals of the year so here goes:

My Goals for November are going to be:

  1. Alphabet of Stitches – 1 row
  2. Snow Queen Finish
  3. Christmas stitched Ornament Exchange- Stitch and Stash
  4. VS Birth Sampler – make a start
  5. Indigo Rose needlebook- make a start

So not challenging but with little one sleeping better, this should be possible now

Talking of little one, He weighed in at 14lbs 12oz last Thursday and a huge 67cm long. He’s 12 weeks and I’m having to think about his next size up clothes already, as he’s nearly out of his 3-6mth clothes, I haven’t organised his 6-9month size clothes yet… I have to get a move on now

We went to friends who have a 10mth old son (Kameron) on Friday for Halloween. We found this very cute skeleton suit. Then on Sunday we went to Kameron’s Christening as my husband is his Godfather so another birthday for me to remind him of lol

Another Place

October 22, 2008

We popped over to Crosby Breach to see ‘Another Place’ by Anthony Gormley.

For those who’ve not heard of this, ‘Another Place’ is 100 life sized cast iron male figures. They are visible on the beach and in the shallow water. They are said to be an exact replica of Gormley, even downstairs ahem, if you catch my drift.

Gormley was responsible for the Angel of the North in Gateshead in 1998 and has a extensive list of works.

The Iron men stretch from Seaforth docks right up to Formby point and it took a good hour or so to walk from one end to the other. Apparently at special times in the year the men are dressed by the locals in football kits, Father Christmas outfits or bathing costumes.

Spider

September 29, 2008

Don’t know if you all heard about the Spider in Liverpool. We made sure that we popped across the water to see it. Must  say it was quite amazing

There were thousands of people lining the streets of Liverpool, to see the fifty-foot high spider dubbed ‘La Princesse’ by her creators, French theatrical engineers La Machine.

This was part of Liverpool’s City of Culture celebrations, the Spider hung about for 3 days, roamed the city a bit then finally disappeared down the Birkenhead Tunnel

A Small Announcement

September 25, 2008

Well exactly two weeks late my little boy decided to finally make an entrance to the world. Weighing 8lb 9oz at 4.25pm on Friday 8th August 2008

Eoghann Paul

09/08/08 - 1 day old

09/08/08 - 1 day old

Decided he preferred my bed early on

Eoghann 10/08/08

over the last 7 weeks he has grown soooo much, he isn’t small… at his 6 – 8 week check up he’s weighed in at 11lb 14oz and 62cm long, which I’m not too surprised about as I’m 5’7″ and Dear Husband is 6’4″  but it does mean he’s being growing out of his clothes mega quickly
